Call for Engineering Awards Nominations

Nominations for the 2012 Scholarship Benefit and Awards Gala are now open!

 

Join NSBE-AEDC as we celebrate the best and brightest among the many talented professionals in the technical community. All are encouraged to submit nominations for awards that will be presented at the 2012 Scholarship Benefit and Awards Gala.


You can nominate yourself, colleagues, coworkers, and/or associates to highlight their achievements and recognize their dedication to the promotion of engineering and technology in the African-American community.

These nominees will serve as role models that set the benchmark we should all strive to achieve.

General Criteria for Nominees:

  • Nomination is required. Nominees must be living at the time of their nomination.
  • Nominee must hold a Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university. (Not necessary for the guest speaker nor nominee for DCCEAS - Engineer of the Year or Young Engineer of the Year)
  • Nominee must be an individual who is highly distinguished for his/her/their contributions to society and the NSBE mission in his/her/their chosen business, profession or philanthropic life’s work.
  • Nominee must be a person of such stature, demonstrated ability and renowned that members of NSBE-AEDC will take pride in and be inspired by his/her/their recognition.
  • Nominee must be an individual who, in deed or action, reflects the importance of his/her education and/or experience in the field of engineering, science, and mathematics.
  • Previous recipients are not eligible for reconsideration.
  • Current members of the NSBE-AEDC executive board are not eligible for consideration. (Not necessary for the guest speaker nor nominee for DCCEAS - Engineer of the Year or Young Engineer of the Year)
  • Persons currently holding or running for elected state or federal public office in are not eligible for consideration.
  • The award may not be conferred in absentia; however, it may be awarded posthumously.
