The Festival Finale Expo will kick off with a special invitation-only ""Sneak Peek Friday"" on April 27 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center! Teachers and students from area and underserved schools, homeschoolers, military families, House and Senate members and their staffers, White House officials, key agency representatives are invited to tour the EXPO exhibits on ""Sneak Peek Friday"" before it opens to the general public on Saturday and Sunday.

A free event for all ages: explore science and engineering with over 3000 fun, hands-on activities and more than 100 stage shows and 36 author presentations. Chat with Bill Nye the Science Guy, blast back to the past with Albert Einstein, meet a Nobel Laureate, perform robotic surgery, learn about the hottest green technologies, and much more. We have selected groundbreaking authors who have introduced science to the general population such as Robin Cook, Carl Zimmer, Walter Lewin, Thea Cooper and Lisa Randall; and award winning children’s authors such as Seymour Simon, Sean Connolly, Bruce Degan, Dia Michels, Jeff Bennett, Celeste Baine and Joy Hakim. Each Featured Author will be giving a 45-minute presentation to include 15 minutes of Q&A followed by a Book Signing. Recent Books from Featured Authors will be sold through a New York Times Reporting Bookseller.
