NSBE-AEDC would like to say Thank You to all speakers, award recipients, sponsors, and attendees of our 4th Annual NSBE-AEDC MLK Award Banquet. We look forward to seeing you all next year. Ms. Gloria Parker Ms. Parker embodies executive management and leadership skills that have proven successful in the private and public sectors. With her emphasis on the need to improve the accessibility of information to all citizens and to make government a more efficient and effective operation, Ms. Parker has become an executive champion in transforming the way government does business through the use of information technology. | Dr. Shirley Malcom  Dr. Malcom is a former trustee of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She is a fellow of the AAAS and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She served on the National Science Board, the policy making body of the National Science Foundation, from 1994 to 1998, and from 1994-2001 served on the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology. | Dr. John D. Terry  For his numerous contributions to the research field, in 2002, Dr. Terry was honored with a national award as the Black Engineer of the Year for Outstanding Technical Contributions in Industry. And he was selected in 2005 as one of the 50 Most Important Blacks in Research Science and Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering. | Dr. James Johnson  Dr. Johnson has authored over 60 scholarly articles, contributed to three books, and co-edited two books. Dr. Johnson is a registered professional engineer in the District of Columbia and a diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineer. He is the 2005 recipient of the National Society of Black Engineers Lifetime Achievement Award in Academia and the Water Environment Federation 2008 Gordon Maskew Fair Distinguished Engineering Education Medal. | Dr. Clifford O. Young  As a Professor of Public Administration at California State University, San Bernardino, Dr. Young has enthusiastically taught Research Methodology and Public Policy and shared his knowledge, career experience, and expertise to graduate students seeking professional careers in local, state, and federal government. | |
